Ercavio Tempranillo Roble 2007
Some decisions are difficult. What to open to accompany Mary's perfect spaghetti and meatball dinner was the decision we faced last night. We decided to open a bottle of Erc
avio Tempranillo Roble 2007. It was promising from the pop of the cork and didn't disappoint. The color was fantastic. It poured a deep purple reminiscent of royalty. The texture was pure luxury and it passed my swirl test. I like to see the wine coat the glass and linger a bit. I was immediately struck by the peppery spice on the first sip and the subsequent fruity and woodsy flavor that followed. I thought the flavor pleasantly mellowed out for the finish. The only dilemma is that we only had one bottle. At $12 a bottle, I plan to stock up.
